Afghanistan Women in SAFF Championship 2014
The Afghan women’s football squad included 20 players and support staff, including the team coach and technical staff.A statement released by AFF said nine players from Iran, United States and Europe have come to participate in SAFF women football championship. The Afghan team played against Maldives, Sri Lanka and Bhutan in the Group B. This was the 3rd time that Pakistan Football Federation had hosted the SAFF Women Championship. The matches were played in Jinnah Stadium Islamabad. SAFF is the biggest Football Cup in South Asia which includes teams from Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Sir Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives and Bangladesh.
