ASF would like to congratulate the Afghanistan National Basketball Team for winning the Gold Medal at the 2010 South Asian Games in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This was the first time ever the Afghanistan National basketball team took part in and won a championship game at an Olympic sponsored competition. Afghanistan beat India 65-64 with a last second shot at the buzzer by team captain Nafi Mashriqi.
This is a great achievement for Afghan sports around the world and ASF is truly proud of our athletes and organizers who made this possible. Special thanks to The Marshall Legacy Institute (MLI) for their support of Afghanistan National Basketball Team and their dedication to helping Afghanistan. More photos to be posted soon.
